This ^ is Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly! What a cuuttteee name! And with the new Batman movie out, I figured I’d post it. I have no clue about this band/man. I just came across it today while making hotel reservations. If they/he sux, sorry! I just thought the name was precious. Anyway, I hear that Bale’s mom used to be a CLOWN! Ha! Who remembers this video? This is a band from the 90’s called Belly. I think one reason I never cared for them too much back then was b/c I thought the name was incredibly stupid, & I could never get past that. Haha. Maybe I was being too hard on them. I’m kind of digging this tonight though. Lead singer, Tanya Donelly, was also in a band called Throwing Muses & The Breeders. I just stumbled across this video, & it kind of made me laugh…in a good way. In the early 90’s, they used to love this one on 120 Minutes.

Anon mentioned New Order in a recent comment so I decided now would be a good time to do another New Order post. They have not gotten enough love on this blog. After the demise of Joy Division, along came New Order. No one will ever take the place of Joy Division, & what I love so much about New Order is the fact that the remaining members of the band went in a different direction with New Order & kept Joy Division a sacred yet never forgotten memory of the past.
World In My Eyes
Everyone knows by now that I am a huge fan of classic alternative music, & I’m not always as accepting of the newbies as I should be. This is mostly due to the fact that A) most of it is total crap & B) a lot of it is a blatant attempt at ripping off some of the alt-rock pioneers. And don’t get me wrong, there are a handful of newer bands out there that I think are taking the right approach towards achieving the next step in alternative music as we know it. Kudos to those bands. And for all of the innovators, may you never be forgotten.

Unfortunately, we could not find lyrics to their songs anywhere on the world wide web so we had no other choice than to try & figure it out ourselves. Lead singer, Alex Maas, has a very unique & beautiful voice. He also likes to throw in a few screams & squeals which is totally hot (as is he). This band is magical! If you listen very closely, it is easy to get lost in their music. The Angels will take you to another time & place. Just be careful b/c you might not want to come back.
